I was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
In 2022, I graduated from Penn State University with bachelor's degrees in mathematics, philosophy, and Applied German. I then moved to NYC where I am now studying at NYU Tandon to receive my master's in mathematical sciences.
Since graduating from Penn State, I have been working at SUNY's Brooklyn Educational Opportunity Center (BEOC) in Downtown Brooklyn, where I help in providing tuition-free career training to adult learners. I began my career here in 2022 as a tutor and library assistant with the objective of advancing toward an instructor role- which I attained within about 6 months of starting at BEOC. Since being promoted to Adjunct Lecturer in May 2023, I have taught Math for Food Service Workers, Math for Medical Assisting Students, GED Mathematics, and GED Science.
In addition to my academic and occupational pursuits, I have also been playing rugby for a bit over a decade. I started in freshman year of high school, then played for the Penn State Women's Rugby team for all 5 of my years at PSU. I now compete in the Women's Premier League with New York Rugby Club.
As you will also see across my site, I am an artist who is constantly exploring new modes of self-expression. I have worked on collages and film photography since high school, but in the more recent years have also expanded to additional mediums such as painting (oil and acrylic), fashion design, poetry, and performance art.
Finally, I would be remiss in my self-synopsis to not mention my Narcolepsy. After years of searching for an explanation for my excessive daytime sleepiness, with which I had dealt since middle school, I finally received a diagnosis of Narcolepsy (without Cataplexy) during my senior year at Penn State. There is no cure for this condition, but I am now working closely with a sleep specialist to help manage my condition. Although I can function much better now with the help of medication, I still struggle daily to operate on the same level as my fellow citizens without such a condition. No matter, I push through to create a life that I love despite this chronic malady.
